After being born in Hong Kong, my family moved to Saigon, Vietnam in 1997 where I would spend the next 18 years of my life growing up as one of the few expats in the city.
Before I knew it, I was heading to the States and looking forward to embracing the American college experience. Shortly after leaving Asia, I quickly realized how much I missed home and its simple pleasures – like morning coconuts, pho for breakfast, and afternoon motorbike rides.
When my girlfriend, Andie, finally came to visit Saigon, I jumped at the chance to show her all my favorite things. It was the morning coconuts on the terrace that quickly became a core routine for us... as well as the 90-minute massages for just 20 bucks...
Years later, and still reminiscing about the sanctity of those mornings in Vietnam, we started thinking of how we could incorporate this lifestyle in NYC. So, enter CASACOCO - a fresh ready-to-open Vietnamese coconut.
CASACOCO is my way of sharing a piece of home with friends, and coconut lovers around the world.
